This app is an intervention tool to help students learn the 107 Zeno High Frequency Words. These words make up 65% of all written language, without knowing them reading and comprehension is near impossible. This is app was developed around a researched based sight word intervention in which there are 90% known words displayed for the student and 10% unknown words.

This app aligns directly with Davis School Districts Drill Down Reading Diagnostic Model. It is an electronic replacement for the Incremental Rehearsal for Sight Words Intervention.

How does it work?

Easily add students, and then select Assessment. Test the students on the 107 Zeno words and check off each word they read with automaticity. Save the assessment.

Select Run Intervention and choose the one of the student’s unknown words from the assessment. Select Begin Intervention. When the intervention begins, read the first/new word for the student and have them repeat it. Touch anywhere on the screen and the student’s most recent known word will appear. Have student read the word. Touch the screen again and the first unknown word will appear again. Have the student read the word. Student should read the rest of the words in the intervention. When the intervention is finished, be sure to update the student’s assessment and add the new known word.
